Whether in newspapers, on TV, or in classrooms, the stance on interest rates has changed notably. The decline in the past years has brought us to an exceptional and unprecedented era of low interest rates. Central Banks all over the world are considering changes in their instruments to tackle this issue and critical decisions will be taken soon – most notably the decision by the Fed to raise rates or not will be shortly after this unique event.

Speaker Profile:

To discuss the situation with us, we have invited a special guest speaker – Prof. Donato Masciandaro (Bocconi University), who will share his point of view on this highly debated topic. As an expert in the fields of central banking and international economics, Prof. Masciandaro will start-off by analyzing the evolution of central banks and the main techniques they used to operate interest rates. His experience as an advisor to the UN, World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank will give us a unique perspective on this topic and certainly answer many doubts.
